As most of you are probably aware, I am a planner. This can be a little overwhelming for some but I like to think I am just prepared for all the possibilities which is a good thing! To this end, at 20 weeks when we found out we were having a girl I began putting together the nursery. My parents were in town that weekend and they helped us out a lot. It was hard to pick out the nursery decor. First, I am not a girl girl and, second, I hate being cliche. I am beginning to notice though that I love all the cliche little pick outfits and things for my little girl. I may be more girly than I thought. For the nursery we went with a lavender theme with safari/zoo for the nursery bedding. I think it turned out really well. The boys painted the room and the girls decorated once everything was set up. That weekend also involved lots of clothes shopping which my Mother is VERY good at :) Below are pictures of the finished nursery that is awaiting our little ones arrival in about three months!

Our little girls new crib.
Changing table/dresser combo.
Second dresser (I am sure we will need both and the closet!!)
Nice big closet.
As you can see, we are all set up and ready for our little girl. She will not be wanting for any thing and I am sure both of our families will spoil her rotten (I know they will because it has already begun!). Lots more things to buy and get prepared before her arrival but I think we have a great start.
Over the next two months we will be taking five classes at St. Lukes to get more prepared: childbirth preparation, baby care basics, breastfeeding 101, pediatric first-aid and pediatric CPR. You can never be too prepared when it comes to your little one and we intend to be very prepared--at least for what we can and knowing there is plenty that we can't prepare for!
