Nursery!

As most of you are probably aware, I am a planner.  This can be a little overwhelming for some but I like to think I am just prepared for all the possibilities which is a good thing!  To this end, at 20 weeks when we found out we were having a girl I began putting together the nursery.  My parents were in town that weekend and they helped us out a lot.  It was hard to pick out the nursery decor.  First, I am not a girl girl and, second, I hate being cliche.  I am beginning to notice though that I love all the cliche little pick outfits and things for my little girl.  I may be more girly than I thought.  For the nursery we went with a lavender theme with safari/zoo for the nursery bedding.  I think it turned out really well.  The boys painted the room and the girls decorated once everything was set up.  That weekend also involved lots of clothes shopping which my Mother is VERY good at :)  Below are pictures of the finished nursery that is awaiting our little ones arrival in about three months!

Our little girls new crib.

Changing table/dresser combo.

Second dresser (I am sure we will need both and the closet!!)

Nice big closet.

As you can see, we are all set up and ready for our little girl.  She will not be wanting for any thing and I am sure both of our families will spoil her rotten (I know they will because it has already begun!).  Lots more things to buy and get prepared before her arrival but I think we have a great start.

Over the next two months we will be taking five classes at St. Lukes to get more prepared: childbirth preparation, baby care basics, breastfeeding 101, pediatric first-aid and pediatric CPR.  You can never be too prepared when it comes to your little one and we intend to be very prepared--at least for what we can and knowing there is plenty that we can't prepare for!

The Start

Today I decided that I should start a blog. Not because I be live it will change the world but I would like to share more details of our life with family and friends.

I guess to start I should just say a little about myself and my family. Hopefully most of you know us but if you don't then here goes. I was born and raised in Redmond, WA, ventured to the South for college and went to law school at Gonzaga. Scott was raised in Sammamish, WA, went to Arizona for college and went into the Air Force for three years (stationed in GA).

Scott and I were married in August 2008 after which we both moved to Boise, Idaho. Now, most people don't just move to Boise...I mean it's Idaho. I never thought I would end up here but a good job could not be turned down right out of law school. Now we love it here and would not leave! Who knew. I currently work for RDG Filings (a full service SEC filing agent) and Scott is attending Boise State University finishing up with Masters in Civil Engineering.

And as most of you know....we are expecting! Our little girl is due to arrive November 19, 2011. I am 28 weeks pregnant and loving it! We are in the home stretch and are just dying with excitement. The main reason to start this blog is to share in the joys of our new little one with all of you (ups and downs included :)).
